Global Minds Professorship for CRC 1399

The Collaborative Research Center CRC1399 "Mechanisms of Drug Sensitivity and Resistance in Small Cell Lung Cancer" and the Department of Translational Genomics at the University of Cologne have been successful in securing a Global Minds Professorship. The funding amounts to up to €3 million and will support outstanding research investigating the regulatory networks underlying cancer cell plasticity and treatment resistance in lung cancer, ideally complementing the CRC's focus.

This success is part of the Global Minds Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG), funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). The initiative marks the first time Global Minds Professorships and Global Minds Mercator Fellowships have been awarded to researchers at Clusters of Excellence and Collaborative Research Centers, supporting these institutions in attracting outstanding researchers from abroad, thereby strengthening the international visibility and networking of German research and offering researchers perspectives within the German research system.
